PHP Developer 7767S
Location: Kansas City, MO
Description: The selected PHP Developer will be responsible for taking on new software development projects and maintaining current applications, which include a wide range of software ranging from Web 2.0 small business applications to applications in use by the Department of Defense. This programmer will be working with a team of other developers, but should feel comfortable taking a lead role on some projects, which will include being responsible for all stages of the software development cycle. For this position, applicants should be familiar with all pieces of a LAMP configuration. Day-to-day tasks will involve a heavy amount of programming and planning. Neither system administration nor database administration will be the primary role, but applicants should be capable of handling tasks in those areas at a medium to high level of difficulty.
What is expected:
This job requires a sound knowledge of building custom applications using PHP on a LAMP platform. Other skills would include a thorough understanding of and experience with SQL, JavaScript, HTML, XML and Web Services. Proficiency with a variety of operating systems, including Windows and Linux is expected. An understanding of quality user interface design as well as architectural application design (software engineering) is also expected. The selected candidate also must have the ability to communicate ideas and complex technical subjects in layman terms.
