Software Engineer 7720S
Location: Johnson County, KS
Description: The selected Software Engineer will take ownership of multiple key subcomponents in an FDA class II biomedical application. The product is a new real-time data acquisition and control system utilizing an Apple® iMac™ as the display head. Application software will be developed as a mix of C and Objective-C in the X-Code™ IDE. In addition to serving as the human-machine interface, the application will control a remote real-time embedded system and network with other application hosts. This will be an advanced architecture extensively utilizing TCP/IP, Cocoa plug-ins, and statistical analysis of collected data. Role will include:
- Contribute to all phases of a structured spiral software development lifecycle in a team environment
- In addition to the specification, coding, and testing of assigned subcomponents, the software engineer will contribute to system validation, authoring technical specifications, participating in peer reviews, and assisting regulatory affairs
- Develop algorithms to perform statistical analysis of empirical data
What is expected:
The selected candidate must have 1-3 years experience developing low-level software interfaces to real-time control systems. Experience with Cocoa programming on Apple® OS-X™ 10.4 or higher is highly beneficial. Engineering experience in a regulated industry (FDA, FAA, DoD) is also beneficial. A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, CS, or equivalent is required.
